US Military Women's Memorial in Arlington, Virginia
US Military Women's Memorial in Arlington, Virginia

The Military Women’s Memorial offers a chance to participate in a one-of-a-kind interactive database. Members of the public are encouraged to add the names, service information, photographs, and memorable experiences of each registered servicewoman. Take advantage of teaching your daughter to volunteer by looking through those old family photo albums and letters to find ones related to the women in your family who have served our country in the military. Preserve your family member’s history by adding it to the Register. The women defended our country, and we cannot allow them to be forgotten.

As the Military Women’s Memorial’s website states, “From the earliest days of the nation, women have been serving alongside men to gain and preserve liberty, but it was difficult to find them in our history books.” The Memorial seeks to retain information like dates of service, branch of service, awards and decorations, and memorable experiences. Pictures in uniform are also welcome.

Visitors to the Military Women’s Memorial can view the Register and take home a printed copy of the information about a specific service member. There is a small fee for a printed copy. What a great opportunity to reach the female youth of our country by not only visiting Arlington National Cemetery but also the Memorial. The Memorial is located at the ceremonial entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, Memorial Avenue & Schley Drive.
