Approximately 1 in 3 women and 1 in 10 men 18 years of age or older experience domestic violence. Annually, domestic violence is responsible for over 1,500 deaths in the United States. To combat this serious and challenging public health problem, the 2025 and 2026 GFWC International Day of Service is focused on ending domestic and sexual violence.
The GFWC International Day of Service unites all GFWC clubs, States, Regions, and International Affiliates behind a shared mission. When we come together on one day with one purpose, the impact creates a powerful ripple effect of hope, safety, and support in communities everywhere.
One day. One purpose. One voice for lasting change.

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is united in its dedication to volunteer community service. The GFWC International Day of Service (IDS) launched in 2023, spotlights an area of need in communities across the nation and around the world to bring about positive change.
The GFWC International Day of Service highlights a different critical issue every two years. In 2023 and 2024, GFWC focused on ending food insecurity and hunger in the United States and around the world. GFWC clubs plan and carry out community service projects that raise awareness and provide essential resources to those in need, guided by each year’s theme.
