GFWC is committed to being a powerful force against domestic and sexual violence. Clubs, districts, states, and regions are asked to unite for action on Saturday, September 27, 2025! Sign up to participate in this historic GFWC International Day of Service (GFWC IDS), as clubs across the globe engage in meaningful actions.
According to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that between 736 million to 862 million women, aged 15 years or older, have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence. Within the United States, based on research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 16 million people are affected every year.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is united in its dedication to volunteer community service. The GFWC International Day of Service (IDS), formerly known as GFWC National Day of Service, launched in 2023, spotlights an area of need in communities across the nation and around the world to bring about positive change.
Every two years a new topic is selected by the GFWC Executive Committee. The 2023 and 2024 GFWC IDS focused on ending food insecurity and hunger in the United States and across the world. GFWC clubs organize community service projects in their communities to raise public awareness and gather the resources necessary to help those in need based on the year's theme.
Check back weekly for the addition of new resources and project ideas for your group's 2025 GFWC International Day of Service!
